Burglary suspect arrested inside Valley Christian Fellowship in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Police arrested a homeless man who broke into a church, vandalized the property and ate the food, officials said.
John Martinez, a 45-year-old known transient of Apple Valley was arrested on Saturday, September 21, 2019, after he broke into the Valley Christian Fellowship in the 19900 block of Bear Valley Road.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jackie Alban said at about 8:37 pm deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to a call of a commercial burglary with a suspect still in the building.
“Martinez broke into two separate buildings, vandalizing the property and eating their food,” stated Alban.
Martinez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for being in violation of PC459C Commercial Burglary. Martinez is currently being held on a $25,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on September 24th.
