BREAKING: Search Underway for Man Feared Dead in Aqueduct

HESPERIA, Calif – Authorities are continuing to conduct a search for a man last seen in the California Aqueduct.
At about 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 30th a reporting party called dispatch stating there was a male in the aqueduct.
Per scanner traffic, a motorist traveling on Main Street reported seeing a man bobbing his head up and down in the Aqueduct before disappearing under water.
Deputies are parked next to a silver Dodge Ram truck with a dog along the Aqueduct on the east side of Main Street. Authorities believe the truck may belong to the possible victim. A witness told deputies, they observed a male with a dog in the area fishing earlier in the day.
A Sheriff’s aviation unit is in the area flying over the aqueduct searching for the man. A dive team has also been requested to respond to the scene and assist with the search and rescue.
The story is developing. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
