VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- Police have arrested a 38-year old woman identified as Teresa Rene Reed for the murder of a newborn baby that was found discarded in a Victorville parking lot.
On Sunday, December 6, 2015, at approximately 11:56 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Station responded to the report of a possible deceased newborn baby located in a parking lot at 7th Street and Green Tree Boulevard in Victorville. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed a newborn baby was deceased.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to the location and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, Reed was identified as the person who gave birth to Baby Doe.
Reed was located and arrested at the old Victor Elementary School District building at about 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 7th, according to arrest records. The location of the arrest, 15579 8th Street in Victorville was the temporary location of the Victor Valley Rescue Mission warming shelter until through Sunday night.
Reed was interviewed and booked for Murder at West Valley Detention Center. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Reed is set for an arraignment hearing at the Victorville Superior Court on Wednesday, December 9th.
