BREAKING: High-Speed Pursuit After Vehicle Stolen with Children Inside

UPDATE @ 11:30 PM: The driver continued, going speeds of up to 90 miles per hour leading CHP officers through the 15 freeway, onto the 10 freeway, then to the 605 freeway southbound through South El Monte and into Whittier. The vehicle exited the freeway onto Beverly Blvd.through a few busy streets then into residential areas.

The pursuit ended when the driver of the stolen Ford Dually stopped as it came up to a road block of police vehicles. An officer walked up to the stopped vehicle, and removed the driver. The vehicle, that was not put into park continued on without a driver for a couple of feet until an officer jumped into the driver’s seat putting it the vehicle park.


APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): At approximately 9:10 P.M., a two-toned grey Ford Dually was parked in the area of Highway 18 and Rancherias Road, the driver got out and went inside the store.

When the driver came out the vehicle was gone with three children inside.

According to scanner traffic, at 9:14 P.M., three children, ages 11-years-old, 10-years-old and 3-years-old were located at the Tom’s restaurant on Highway 18 and Corwin Road.

The children were dropped off by a female with a black hoodie and brown hair.

The Ford Dually with amber color lights on the roof, was located by the Apple Valley deputies and upon their attempt to pull the suspect over the vehicle failed to yield causing a pursuit.

The vehicle jumped on the southbound freeway at vehicle in excess of 85 miles per hour heading down the Cajon Pass.

As of 9:50 P.M., the vehicle was in the Rancho City Limits approaching the city of Ontario.
