ADELANTO-(VVNG.com): A 7-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital for treatment of third-degree burns to his chest neck and face early Friday morning.
The San Bernardino Fire Department and Adelanto deputies responded to the 18000 block of Jonathan Street at around 5:30 a.m.
The small child told authorities that he was taking out the trash when an unknown suspect set him on fire.
Detectives from the Adelanto Station and the San Bernardino County Bombs and Arson responded to assist in the investigation.
Through investigation, they determined that the boy woke up before his family and was playing with a lighter when he caught his own clothing on fire.
The boy was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.
