VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A book author who was traveling between states lost his laptop and all his work and is hoping a large reward will help find it.
“I left my MacBook at a Starbucks in Victorville California, driving back to LA from Las Vegas. All of my work was on there, including a copy of my new book which was supposed to be published in two months,” stated the man, who goes by the name Aaron Lux.
On April 17, 2019, the book author went to Starbucks at 14329 Bear Valley Road in Victorville, where he worked on his laptop while there, for approximately 45 minutes, according to the report filed with the Victorville Police Department.
The 2015 MacBook Air laptop should be easy to spot, as it has wooden keys and a custom wood “skin” covering the back.
“By finding this laptop you will not only make $2000 but you’ll also be helping me get my new writings to the world and restoring faith in humanity. It’s definitely out there and if we work together we can get it done!,” said Lux.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said, “Starbucks was contacted and it had not been turned in. The deputy handling the case has made a request with Starbucks Corporate Office for any video surveillance that may be available and helpful to the investigation.”
Lux said the laptop was spotted on OfferUp a few days ago and briefly tracked to Hesperia before the signal went dead.
“So it is DEFINITELY still out there. Let’s just hope the writings are still on there or it’s worthless,” stated Lux.
To claim the reward, Lux is asking for the safe return of the laptop, or importantly, the book contents.
“I didn’t have the laptop set to backup my work and I learned a valuable lesson. At this point, I just want my work back and don’t mind if I don’t get the laptop, just my work.”
If you would like to claim the $2000 reward in exchange for the return of the laptop and it’s content, please contact email@example.com.
If you know the whereabouts of the laptop and would like to notify a detective, call the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911.
