HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a bomb threat at the Pilot Travel Center in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at the Pilot on January 14, 2024, at 1:27 am, located in the 8700 block of Highway 395 and Joshua Street.
“An employee received a call, one of many prank calls, where they were told there was a bomb in the business,” Mara Rodriguez, SBCSD Spokeswoman, told VVNG.
“The business and surrounding area were evacuated, and deputies did a sweep for any suspicious items,” Rodriguez stated.
Nothing was found, and the business was cleared to reopen.
This was the second incident of its kind to have occurred in the past couple of days.
A bomb threat on Friday morning prompted the evacuation of a U.S. Bank branch on 7th Street, according to a prior VVNG article.
No arrests have been made, as the pranksters have not been identified. No further updates were immediately available.
