BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Barstow Police have opened a murder investigation after the body of a man was found on Thursday.
The victim, Robert Allen Chavez, 40, of Baldwin Park, was found around 9:05 am, in the desert area south of Elks Lane, near Highway 58.
Officials said the body was discovered by electrical workers who called the police and pointed out where the body was.
“Detectives confirmed the person was deceased and based on the evidence at the scene, determined foul play was involved and began working the case as a homicide,” stated a news release.
Official said Chavez was shot multiple times.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner arrived to collect the body of Robert Allen Chavez.
