5/22/13 – UPDATE: NAME RELEASED: Karen Elizabeth Dalman, a 59 year old resident of Big Bear City Decedent was positively identified by fingerprints.
According to a coroner’s press release, “Back on 05-18-13, at 3:00 PM, the body of a female was found in the area of Crystal Mountain near the Baldwin Lake area by Sheriff Department Search and Rescue team members.
A team of Search and Rescue personnel was established to search for 59 year-old Karen Dalman of Big Bear who went missing several days earlier on 05-16-13 while hiking in that same area.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The Coroner is waiting on dental X-RAYS to positively identify the decedent. San Bernardino Sheriff Department is investigating the incident.
