Black Ice Causing Accidents In the Victor Valley

VICTOR VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) Black ice has caused over a dozen accidents in the High Desert early Tuesday, with motorists in Hesperia and Phelan in particular being warned to take extra care.
With yesterday’s heavy downpour and today’s frigid temperatures, emergency resources are being stretched thin as they respond to back to back accidents.
Authorities have requested the roadway to be closed at Rock Springs Road between Glendale and Deep Creek Road due to a head-on collision.
More than half the accidents have been single vehicle rollovers, however, in the last hour there has been at least three accidents involving two cars or more.
Fortunately, most accidents have resulted in only minor injuries, except for one driver of an older white Acura that struck a utility pole at Mariposa Road at Cedar Street at 7:23 a.m.
An airship was requested for that accident that resulted in major injuries.
