Bicyclist Suffers Major Injuries After Being Hit By a Truck

HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): A bicyclist was severely injured after being struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning.
At around 7:26 a.m. on May 1st deputies from the Hesperia station and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County fire Department responded to the report of a vehicle vs. bike traffic collision on Mariposa Road south of Ranchero Road.
Through investigation, deputies determined that the black 2004 GMC Sierra and the bicycle were both traveling southbound on Mariposa Road when the bicycle was struck. The bicyclist suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The driver of the GMC remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
MAIT Investigators are continuing the investigation into the collision. Mariposa Road was closed in the area of the collision from 7:37 AM until 2:08 PM while MAIT Investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses.
