Bicyclist Airlifted After Colliding With a car in Victorville

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- A bicyclist was airlifted on Thursday morning after he was struck by a vehicle.
At approximately 9:30 AM, on May 19th dispatch, received a report of a vehicle versus a bicyclist on the 13900 block of La Mesa Road.
Upon arrival, first responders located a dark-colored Mitsubishi sedan and a purple colored mountain bike in the roadway near Happy Trail.
According to San Bernardino County Deputy A. Awad, the vehicle was traveling in the no.2 eastbound lane on La Mesa. “The cyclist was also in the no.2 lane when for unknown reasons he veered into the roadway and ended up colliding with the vehicle.”
As a precaution, the elderly male was airlifted to an out of area trauma hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The female driver of the vehicle was visibly distraught but not injured.
Authorities said speed, alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the collision. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
