Beloved Grandpa From Hesperia Customizes Car for a Cause–the Cost-Conscious Way

HESPERIA, Calif. — Henry Ramos, affectionately known by the locals of Hesperia as “Grandpa Ramos,” has been a car enthusiast his entire life, but has never had the funds to act on his expensive passion; that all changed when his son and some neighborhood kids urged him to customize his 2013 Nissan 370Z Roadster and enter it in the local car show to support their school football team.
Grandpa Ramos did his research on the most wallet-friendly way to trick out a car, and creatively found a way to raise money for the Victor Valley Christian School Football Team.
Luck seemed to be on his side when he came across e-commerce marketplace Temu. Grandpa Ramos was able to take a trial-and-error approach to overhauling every single detail of the car–from the striped hood decal and seat covers down to the gear shift. He added red flames to the spoiler, red lining under the grill and around the headlights, new seats, seat belt covers, an entirely new gear shift, emergency brake, console cover, headrest lining, red door lighting, a fake dashboard camera and even red accents on the windshield wipers.
Grandpa Ramos’ creativity and penny-wise approach to fundraising fueled his creativity while also helping his community.
