Bear Valley Road closed after motorcycle rider dies in crash

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A portion of Bear Valley Road remains closed after a motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident early Saturday morning.

At about 4:55 am on July 20, 2019, emergency personnel responded to the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Eleventh Avenue reference a motorcycle rider down in the roadway.

They arrived and located, a blue/purple motorcycle on its side along the shoulder of the eastbound lanes. The rider was approximately 100 feet away in the intersection.

First responders pronounced the rider deceased at the scene and the body was covered with a yellow-tarp.

Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Jodi Miller told Victor Valley News as the investigation continues [deputies] will determine if it was a single-vehicle collision or if there was another vehicle possibly involved. “Too early to determine some of that information.”

Bear Valley Road is closed between Ninth Avenue and Cypress Avenue while the sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) conducts the investigation.

This is a developing story and additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
