BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 36-year-old Barstow woman wanted in connection with the January fatal shooting of 27-year-old Jessie Moore has turned herself in to police, authorities said.
Alyse Brown surrendered at the Barstow Police Department Detective Annex on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at about 1:22 p.m., according to Barstow police.
Brown was later booked into the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s High Desert Detention Center for murder under Penal Code 187(a).
Police said the arrest stems from a homicide investigation that began late Friday, Jan. 16, 2026.
At about 11:39 p.m. that night, Barstow police officers responded to the 200 block of North First Avenue after receiving multiple reports of shots fired.
While officers were at the scene searching for a victim and witnesses, Barstow Community Hospital contacted dispatch to report that a shooting victim had arrived for treatment.
Officers responded to the hospital and found Moore suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Hospital staff later pronounced her dead.
Barstow Police detectives and evidence technicians took over the investigation, interviewed witnesses, gathered evidence and identified Brown as the suspect, according to police.
Detectives later obtained a warrant for Brown’s arrest on a murder charge. At the time of the earlier release, Brown was considered armed and dangerous and was at large.
