BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A Canadian man was arrested Friday night after Barstow Police officers discovered more than 140 pounds of suspected cocaine during a traffic stop along Interstate 15.
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 10:09 p.m., officers with the Barstow Police Department conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a tractor-trailer traveling northbound on Interstate 15 near Lenwood Road for a vehicle code violation.
According to a written statement, officers contacted the driver, identified as 25-year-old Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Alberta, Canada.
During the investigation, a police K9 was deployed and conducted a free-air sniff around the exterior of the tractor-trailer. The K9 alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics, prompting a search of the trailer.
Officers discovered a large quantity of individually wrapped packages of suspected cocaine. The narcotics were later weighed at the Barstow Police Department and determined to total approximately 143 pounds.
Singh was taken into custody and booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance for sale.
