Barstow Man Arrested After High-Speed Chase in Stolen Vehicle Ends in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 41-year-old Barstow man was arrested in Victorville after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit in a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 9:06 p.m., on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, deputies from the Victorville Station acted on a tip regarding a 2016 black BMW 428 that had been reported stolen from Barstow.

Officers quickly located the vehicle at the crossroads of Mojave Drive and Village Drive.

Upon attempting to pull over the BMW, the driver, later identified as Michael Grayson, did not comply with the deputies and initiated a pursuit.

During the pursuit Grayson reached speeds of over 130 miles per hour, failed to stop at red lights and stop signs, and drove recklessly swerving in front of vehicles. 

After several miles, Grayson’s vehicle became disabled at Victorville Quarry Road and Quarry Road.

Grayson was subsequently taken into custody by deputies without any further complications.

Michael Grayson now faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle (P.C. 496(A)), evading police (V.C. 2800.2(A)), violation of probation (P.C. 1203.2(A)(1)), and possession of a controlled substance (H&S 11379(A)). He is currently being held at High Desert Detention Center.
