Barstow man arrested after grabbing a female employee’s butt and laughing

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 23-year-old Barstow man was arrested for sexual battery after he allegedly grabbed a female employees butt and laughed as he left the store.

It happened on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at a business in the 500 block of E. Virginia Way in Barstow.

At about 3:30 pm, the suspect, Dayton Kuhnsantunez walked inside the location and approached a female employee.

According to a Barstow Police news release, the female victim said she was helping other customers when she felt someone grab her buttocks. The victim turned around and saw the suspect who turned away from her and laughed as he left the business, officials said.

The employee reported the incident to her manager and described the suspect as a heavyset white male adult. She was also able to provide a clothing description.

Officers responded to the area and located a male matching the description near the Food 4 Less gas station. The male was identified as Dayton Kuhnsantunez and detained him while an officer made contact the female victim.

An infield show-up was conducted and the victim positively identified Kuhnsantunez. The business’ surveillance video also captured the incident.

Kuhnsantunez was booked at the Barstow Police Department for PC 243.4(e)(1) – Sexual Battery.
