It’s not every day that a local hometown girl is featured on national television and given the opportunity to follow her dreams. For one local resident her dream of inspiring others through her musical talent is becoming a reality thanks to the popular TV show the X-Factor.
16-year old Summer Reign was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Apple Valley and considers herself a “Desert Rat.”

She is passionate not only about her singing but also about her family, friends, and her hometown.
Summer is a senior at Encore High School and decided to give it a shot at this years audition on the X-Factor. She was overwhelmed with happiness when she received a “yes” vote from all four celebrity judges which allowed her to advance in the show.
Reign started the competition as a solo artist and was devastated when she did not make the cut for the top 10 female solo artist.
However the judges liked her so much they decided to place in her a group with two other girls, “I never thought of myself in a group, but I can’t think of myself any other way now,” said Summer, “It’s really harmonious, we all clicked very well right when we met each other… in fact it was so cool when we walked on stage for the first time together, Demi and Simon said they got chills just by looking at us and they hadn’t even heard us sing.” The all girl group is known as Sweet Suspense, this week they will perform on stage together for the first time in front of the panel of judges competing for a spot in the top 16.
Simon Cowell, was selected to be the groups mentor and Summer tell’s us he is super nice, cheerful, truthful and just a great guy. She explains being in a competition like this it’s exactly what you need. Summer and the rest of the girls have been keeping busy and are currently in Atlanta receiving extensive vocal training to prepare for their upcoming performance on Thursday night.
Summer would like to say thank you to the Victor Valley for the overwhelming support. Victor Valley News would like to wish Summer and Sweet Suspense all the luck in the world and we couldn’t be anymore proud of her.
