Apple Valley, CA – November 27, 2013: The Apple Valley Golf Course restaurant is changing operators, but golf patrons and restaurant guests will enjoy a seamless transition as Sierra Golf Management (SGM) takes over the food and beverage operation beginning Thanksgiving Day.
The previous operator, the Golden Round Eye partnership, gave notice on October 24 that they would close November 27. SGM has invited all current restaurant employees to submit an application to continue in the same capacity, and has hired Randi Coffman, a 5-year employee of the golf course restaurant, as the restaurant manager.
SGM began management and operations of the pro shop and golf operations on July 1 of this year. This week they were able to secure a temporary liquor license that will allow drink cart service for the scramble format tournament planned on Thanksgiving Day, and continued full service in the bar.
Menu service for breakfast and lunch will continue as well, although entrée choices may change. The full service restaurant is open to the public, and offers a convenient and affordable choice for a sit-down meal in the center of town.
The Town and SGM have entered into an interim agreement to allow for an immediate transition. A long-term lease agreement is currently in negotiation, as well as plans to rehabilitate the dining and kitchen facilities.
Groups and organizations with December functions were notified earlier to make alternate arrangements, in case the agreement with SGM was not reached in time. However, ongoing use and future banquet reservations can now continue.
