APPLE VALLEY: According to a news release, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at approximately 3:57 p.m., Deputies of the Apple Valley Police Station were dispatched to a report of a carjacking that just occurred.
The female victim described as a 42-year-old female was washing her vehicle at a carwash located on 13000 block of Navajo Rd., near Powhatan Rd., in the Town of Apple Valley.
The suspect reportedly asked for a ride, but the victim refused.
The suspect then got in the vehicle and attempted to drive away. However, the suspect was unable to operate the vehicle and fled on foot when the victim began yelling for help.
Through investigation, the Apple Valley Police Station’s Detective Bureau identified the suspect and located an address belonging to the suspect’s girlfriend in the Town of Apple Valley. Gang Deputies and Detectives went to the residence located in the 21000 block of Nisqually Rd., where the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
Suspect Devante Bryant, 20, Oxnard was positively identified, arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center on charges of PC215-carjacking and for an outstanding no bail warrant.
