
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A store manager and employee were arrested after the duo executed a dangerous robbery at a Victorville Auto Zone.
The suspects, Marquez Donell Assabore, 29, a resident of Chino and Gonzalo Eduardo Lara, 22, of Victorville were both arrested for Robbery and Conspiring to Commit a Crime, officials said.
As previously reported by Victor Valley News, on February 11, 2019, Victorville deputies responded to the Auto Zone in the 14600 block of Palmdale Road reference an armed robbery.
According to a sheriff’s news release, a black male entered the business wearing a bandana over his face, gloves, and dark clothing.
“He brandished a handgun and ordered a female employee to the ground and a male employee to give him money from the store’s safe and cash registers. After obtaining the money the suspect fled the store,” stated the release.
Through investigation, Detectives learned the suspect was an Auto Zone employee and had conspired with another employee to commit the robbery.
“The second suspect, a manager at the store, was the male employee working the night of the robbery,” stated the release.
Officials said that during the investigation, four stolen firearms were recovered, one of which was determined to be the handgun used in the robbery.
On March 21, 2019, Assabore was arrested near his Chino home and booked at West Valley Detention Center for robbery and conspiring to commit a crime.
According to police On April 2, 2019, Lara was arrested in Victorville on April 2nd and Assabore was arrested near his home in Chino on March 21st. Both men were booked at High Desert Detention Center.
According to public arrest records, Lara is scheduled for arraignment on April 4, 2019 and his bail is set at $100,000.
Assabore is also behind bars with a bail of $350,000 for the PC211 Robbery charge and another $50,000 for PC2850(A) Carrying a Loaded Fire Arm and PC496(A) Receiving Stolen Property. His court arraignment is scheduled for May 1, 2019.
