
VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- On Thursday afternoon, police and EMS officials responded to a report of a child’s near-drowning in the 12700 block of Fox Trail Way in Victorville. The call was reported at 12:10 PM, on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
Per scanner traffic, dispatch received a report that a 2-year-old female had drowned and CPR was in progress. The child was initially reported as being unconscious but breathing.
Upon arrival, first responders requested an air ambulance to transport the child. The designated landing zone was established at Liberty Park in Victorville.
Victorville Sheriff Station Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez told Victor Valley News the two-year-old female was found face down in a backyard pool. “She is being airlifted to Loma Linda, is breathing and stable right now,” said Rodriguez.
According to Rodriguez, a small dog was also found in the pool and unfortunately did not survive.
Circumstances surrounding the near drowning aren’t known at this time. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
