ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified both drivers killed in a head-on crash along US Highway 395 on March 20, 2018.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a 2015 Chevrolet Captiva and a 2012 Hyundai Sonata at 4:35 am, along US-395, north of Colusa Road.
Upon arrival, they located Leslie Doss, 39, of Victorville in a 2012 Hyundai Sonata and Timothy Ellis, 36, of Helendale in a 2012 Chevrolet Captiva, both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to a CHP news release, “the investigation revealed the driver of the Hyundai was traveling northbound on US-395, at an elevated speed, passing two other vehicles over a set of double yellow line markings in the roadway, directly into the path of the Chevrolet, which was traveling southbound. Both drivers turned their vehicles to the west in an attempt to avoid a collision but collided head-on causing fatal injuries to both involved parties.”
Officials said alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the collision.
