HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): At approximately 10:25 A.M., on Sunday, May 31, 2015, a worker from the Department of Water Resources was doing his rounds on the Aqueduct and found a body in the California Aqueduct. The body was located on Amargosa, near the Key Pointe Avenue.

Initially, based on preliminary reports, the body was reported to media to be that of a male, but it was later determined to be a female. The body of the unidentified female was found face down, floating within the Aqueduct.

The worker immediately called 911 to report his findings. Upon arrival, CHP officers determined the body was displaying obvious signs of Rigor Mortis. The body was pulled from the water by the Sheriff’s Department Dive Team just before 2:00 P.M.
