Astounding Panelist to Provide Economic Predictions

VICTORVILLE, Calif. — An electrifying group of panelists will share their expertise, including their sought-after economic forecasts, during the High Desert Opportunity Summit (HDOS) which will showcase business opportunities in the High Desert and raise funds for local college students.

Leading the daylong event will be a dynamic economics discussion led by guest speaker Wells Fargo Securities Director and Senior Economist Sarah House.

The HDOS takes place 7:30 a.m. (Registration, Check-in and Expo) 9 a.m. Program – 3 p.m., October 25, at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds, 14800 7th Street, Victorville. The upcoming event is presented by Desert Valley Hospital/Desert Valley Medical Group.

House will be joined by Shear Realty Owner/Broker Caroll Yule who will discuss the key role and impact of housing in the region. “Housing is often the greatest source of wealth and savings for many families,” Yule said. “Real estate plays an integral role in the U.S. economy, and commercial real estate generates a major source of investment revenue and creates jobs by providing space for retail, offices, and manufacturing. Subsequently, in 2017, real estate construction contributed $1.34 trillion to the nation’s economic output.”

Rounding out the economic forecast panel will be Victor Valley College (VVC) Superintendent/President Dr. Roger Wagner. VVC recently commissioned an economic impact report (EIR) to affirm the college’s role in San Bernardino County, which is one of the largest counties in the nation. Wagner will share the EIR findings in his presentation titled What if Victor Valley College Wasn’t Here?

“Victor Valley College is one of the largest employers in the region which creates a significant positive impact on the business community,” Wagner said. During the last five years, the college has taken momentous steps toward strengthening our partnerships with local employers to develop and train the skilled workforce they need to help their organizations and our local economy thrive.”
