UPDATE: Artist Says He Made Teddy Bear Found at Victorville Gas Station

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A disturbing teddy bear that triggered a police and coroner response outside a Victorville gas station on Sunday may have been a horror-themed novelty item, according to a comment left by the artist who claims to have made it.

The bear was discovered around 12:30 p.m. on July 13, 2025, outside the ARCO/AMPM at Bear Valley and Amethyst Roads.

Deputies taped off the parking lot after a caller reported finding an object that appeared to be human remains.

A coroner investigator collected the bear for further examination, and the business reopened around 2:15 p.m.

Later in the day, a verified Facebook account named Dark Seed Creations commented on a VVNG post about the incident, writing:

“So this is my teddy bear. I made this and sent it to a customer there earlier in the week. No way this is real lol. This is an item we make for order.”

The artist included a photo of similar handmade bears that feature gruesome, skin-like detailing. Although the origin of the specific bear found in Victorville has not been officially confirmed, online listings show similar horror-themed items being sold as custom artwork.

The comment does not suggest that the artist placed the bear at the gas station, only that it was sent to a customer in the area.

“I have been in horror fx for almost 20 years and have never had anything like this happen lol. I just started getting people tagging me in it,” the article said.

As of Sunday evening, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has not released an update confirming or disputing the claim.

The investigation remains ongoing.
