Arrests made in Victorville house party shooting that left several injured

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities arrested two Victorville men wanted in a weekend house party shooting that injured several people, officials said.

It happened on Saturday, January 19, 2019, in the 15500 block of Nisqualli Road in Victorville.

At about 11:00 pm, deputies responded to a report of shots fired with multiple people injured at a residence near the Mountain Vista Apartments.

Deputies arrived at the location and found one person that had been shot in the leg and four others grazed by bullets.

Through investigation, deputies determined the suspect La Royal Brumfield, 29, and his brother La Jamaal Brumfield, 37, had been at the house party and assaulted a woman.

“La Royal became intoxicated and argued with other party guests, leading to him being asked to leave. La Royal physically assaulted a female and left the location, threatening to shoot and kill everyone at the party,” stated a sheriff’s news release.

La Royal returned to the location and shot dozens of rounds towards the residence and fled.

Sheriff’s officials obtained a search warrant for the home of La Jamaal in the 15000 block of Brown Lane and found several firearms and multiple rounds of ammunition, officials said.

La Jamaal, a convicted felon, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for felon in possession of a firearm and prohibited person in possession of ammunition.

Through further investigation and the continued assistance of the Specialized Enforcement Division, La Royal was located traveling near Cedar City, Utah and was taken into custody by Utah State Troopers. He is currently being held at Iron County Jail awaiting extradition back to California on attempted murder charges.
