Arrest Made in Hesperia Homicide

HESPERIA: A Hesperia man has been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred on Friday, March 7, 2014, at about 10:54 p.m.
Deputies from Hesperia Police Department responded to the report of shots heard in the area of Shasta Drive and Avenal Street in Hesperia. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim Ronnie Steven Mena, age 34 of Mentone deceased at the location, according to a news release.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail responded and are currently conducting the investigation. Through investigation, the suspect was identified as Alex Vincent Quezada, age 31 of Hesperia.
The suspect was later arrested without incident in the city of San Bernardino, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center. At this time detectives have not given a motive.
