ARIZONA:(VVNG.com)- The death of 8-year-old Arizona girl, Isabella Nevaeh Grogan-Canella came with a lot of questions following. Last night her mother and her mother’s boyfriend according to witnesses were detained by the police, for questioning. Early on Thursday morning a search warrant was issued and the home Bella had lived in was raided at gunpoint by authorities looking for evidence surrounding the possible kidnapping and subsequent death.
The case surrounding the body of the little girl have caused much of the community to point fingers at 26-year-old, Justin James Rector, a family acquaintance who was with the mother and boyfriend at the time the girl went missing. Rector was arrested on the shoplifting charges on Tuesday. He was questioned about Bella, who was missing at that time.
Many residents of the small town described the child’s mother and her boyfriend as heavy drug users who had people going in and out of the house quite often. “The little girl was always wandering off by herself after dark and even during the day. They said they last saw her at 1:30 a.m., I don’t know, but if I had a kid I would always know where they are. I know because I live down the street from where she lived,” commented a Victor Valley News member on a group post.
Trevor Hanson, who has known Rector since junior high said, “I went to junior high with Justin and he was twisted. He told me he drowned a puppy in a plastic bag before.” According to witnesses Rector was caught stealing clothing inside a local Wal-Mart with mud stained clothing turned inside out. The mother of the young girl was believed to have driven Rector to the Wal-Mart sometime around 10:00-10:30 p.m. Tanya, Bella’s mother, had told the conflicting story to friends that she noticed her daughter missing by 10:00 p.m. when she had told authorities 1:30 a.m.
Rector bragged on Facebook posts about being questioned about the missing child then being released, but it was later mentioned that he was released only because he was using being with the mother of the child as his alibi. Those in the area were told that the body of the 8-year-old child was found wrapped in a blanket down a ravine in a wash. People who know the area do not believe that the 80-90 pound child could have been put there by Rector alone, leading many to believe that the mother and possibly her boyfriend Ralphie were involved in the murder or at least the disposal of her body.
“If they were released after questioning, I am sure they are now back in custody after the raid of the house. The house is a drug house,” added Hanson.
At this time there is no clear motive and no future arrest have been ruled out. This is an on-going investigation and more details will be updated as they become available.
