RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 50-year-old woman recently jailed for beating up an elderly family member was found dead inside her cell at the West Valley Detention Center.
According to a sheriff’s news release, deputies entered the cell of Perla Alvarado at about 1:10 am, on Wednesday, March 6, to clean it and found her “unresponsive and cold to the touch.”
Medical staff arrived and rendered life-saving measures; however, she was pronounced deceased.
Officials said Alvarado was housed in a one-person cell. An autopsy will be conducted by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office to determine the cause of death.

According to public court records, Alvarado was a medical no-show for her last hearing on March 4th.
