Apple Valley Woman Assaulted During Armed Robbery



Apple Valley Investigation on Myalon and Symeron. Woman reportedly assaulted during armed robbery.

APPLE VALLEY-( On Sunday, March 6, 2016, deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the 15600 block of Myalon Road near Symeron Road in response to an assault during an armed robbery.  At around 11:59 a.m., the female victim, reported to be elderly, drove into her garage after returning home.

According to scanner traffic, a black man pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the woman and demanded that she unlocked the door to her home. Although details are still unclear, the male suspect reportedly physically attacked the woman and left on foot with her jewelry.

The severity of injuries sustained by the victim is unknown at this time. Deputies conducted an area search, but at this time, the suspect(s) remain at large.

Per scanner info, the suspect was described as 5’6”, medium build, short hair, and in his mid-late 20’s. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene with the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail for an investigation. It is unclear if this incident is related to the double homicide of an elderly couple less than two miles away in the 19900 block of Outer Highway 18 South.  The elderly couple was believed to have been murdered sometime between the morning of Sunday, February 28, 2016, and Monday, February 29, 2016.

Sheriff’s officials told Victor Valley News that they are unable to release any information. “It is an open investigation at this time and we do not want to put anything out at this time that may hinder the investigation,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Apple Valley Station Spokeswoman, Trish Hill.
