Apple Valley SMASH Operation Deemed a Success with 54 Arrests

APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): A multi-agency SMASH operation put authorities in contact with numerous known gang members, parolees and probationers in the town of Apple Valley on Friday, August 7th.
S.M.A.S.H., which stands for San Bernardino County Movement Against Street Hoodlums consisted of authorities from the Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, Police Departments and California Highway Patrol.
With the assistance of the District Attorney’s Office and the Parole/Probation Departments the team stepped in to take action to bring safety and control back to the area.
Victor Valley residents took notice of patrol vehicles from the cities of Barstow, Colton, Fontana, Montclair, San Bernardino and Upland, which assisted in the operation.
“I saw a Corona cop today, I waved and told him thank you for getting the trash out of my town,” said Victor Valley News Group member Terry Kellie Rocheleau.
