Apple Valley Pursuit Put High School on Lockdown

APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com):  A pursuit occurred near Highway 18 and Kiowa road just after 9:00 a.m. putting  Apple Valley High School students on a brief lockdown. Apple Valley Unified School District officials assured parents that the students were never in any danger, and the lockdown was a precautionary measure to insure the safety of all on campus.

The pursuit began when the deputy attempted to conduct a stop of the vehicle and they failed to yield. When the pursuit reached the area of the school at approximately 9:10 a.m. the school officials put the school on lockdown for approximately 15 minutes.

The vehicle stopped allowing the passenger to exit the vehicle near Highway 18 and Navajo Road. The passenger was taken into custody but the driver of the vehicle is still at large.
