Apple Valley man protects himself with a pillow after roommate attacks him with a knife

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 74-year-old man used a pillow to protect himself after he woke up and found his roommate standing in his bedroom armed with a knife.

At about 12:50 pm on January 18, 2020, deputies from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to an assault in the 16000 block of Chiwi Road.

Deputies spoke with the elderly victim and learned he rents a room to the suspect, identified as 60-year-old Lisa Mona White.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jackie Alban said the victim woke up to find White in his bedroom holding a knife. The victim grabbed a pillow to protect himself as the suspect began to approach the victim and stabbed the pillow.

Thew suspect left from the location and was located by deputies a short time later in the 17900 block of outer Highway 18.

White was taken into custody and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for PC  245(A)(4) ADW/Force: Possible GBI-Knife and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on January 23, 2020.
