
LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in finding an unknown driver who struck and killed a 50-year-old Apple Valley man.
It happened on January 17, 2019, on Highway 330, near mile marker 34 at the 3000 ft. level.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, the deceased victim was found by a passerby who stopped and called 911.
Arrowhead Area CHP says the pedestrian, a 50-year-old man from Apple Valley was traveling northbound on State Route 330 when he was struck by a vehicle.
“It was determined the pedestrian was struck in the northbound lane of SR-330, throwing him approximately 50 feet,” stated a CHP news release.
The male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene and his name is being withheld until family has been notified.
CHP said the vehicle and driver are currently still outstanding and un-identified.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation by the Arrowhead CHP Office. Anyone with information is asked to call Arrowhead CHP at (909)867-2791.
