Apple Valley Man Hit By Car Dies From Injuries



APPLE VALLEY, Calif. ( A 65-year-old Apple Valley man struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon has died as a result of his injuries, authorities said.

On April 17th, 2017 at approximately 12:05 p.m., deputies from the Apple Valley Police Station responded to the area of Jess Ranch Pkwy. and Town Center Drive reference a vehicle versus pedestrian.

When deputies arrived they located a male down in the roadway with a head injury.

The driver of a 2001 Silver Ford Explorer identified as Shelly Tucker, 47, a resident of Apple Valley, was traveling southbound Jess Ranch Pkwy. attempting to make a left-hand turn on to Town Center Drive.

Authorities say Tucker did not see the pedestrian later identified as Kirpal Singh Dhaliwa and was unable to avoid striking him with her SUV.

Apple Valley fire and AMR personnel arrived on scene and the Dhaliwa was transported to Desert Valley Hospital and then flown via air ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Deputies from the Apple Valley Police Station MAIT team responded back out to the scene to conduct further investigation into the fatal traffic collision.

The Roadway from Jess Ranch Pkwy. to Town Center Drive and Apple Valley Road at Town Center Drive to Jess Ranch Pkwy. will be closed in all directions until approximately 8:00 p.m. this evening.

The collision is currently under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Apple Valley Station, Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT). Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Deputy Brian Woytovich at 760-240-7400.
