HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): A 45-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested Wednesday morning after crashing into a curb and stop sign in Hesperia Wednesday morning. At around 9:50 a.m. Hesperia station deputies were dispatched to Main and Walnut Streets to the report of a man slumped over his steering wheel.
Deputies responded to find William White behind the wheel of his vehicle that came to a crashing stop after hitting the curb and stop sign. Deputies requested a field sobriety test, which White refused. Deputes attempted to arrest him and he resisted arrest, but was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
White was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for driving under the influence and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer or emergency medical technician.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this collision. Hesperia Sheriff’s Station would like to remind citizens to report persons they observe driving recklessly or who appear to be driving impaired.
Deputies stopping these vehicles has resulted in getting drunk drivers off the road and getting medical aid to those suffering from sudden medical issues behind the wheel.
