APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An Apple Valley homeowner returning home was shocked when they found a dead man in their backyard inside an SUV.
On December 6, 2019, at 12:48 p.m., Deputies with the Apple Valley Police Station were dispatched to a home on the 20200 block of Rancherias Road, on the south side of Highway 18 near the Apple Valley Golf Course.
“The resident came home and found an unknown vehicle parked on his property, and the subject in the vehicle was deceased,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Cindy Bachman stated.
The homeowner’s daughter, who wished not to be named, told Victor Valley News that the SUV broke through a gate and was found in the backyard behind their pool with the naked male deceased inside.
The family was out and was unaware when or how the incident occurred, but said they were informed by officials that the body appears to have been there for a day or two.
“Where the house is, it’s not like he missed a curve in the road and plowed through the gate,” the daughter stated. “He was the only occupant of the vehicle. Nothing was damaged or broken into in the home.”
Spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said nothing suspicious was noted.
“Deputies and the Coroner responded and based on the info in the call it doesn’t indicate any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death,” stated the Sheriff’s Spokeswoman.
This discovery came the same day another man was found deceased in his vehicle outside a Circle K Gas Station in Adelanto on Air Express Way after medical aid was requested for a drug overdose.
No suspicious circumstances were noted in either case.
The Coroner has not identified either victim in Friday’s events or the cause of the death.
