
APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Samuel Beckner, 32, is charged with murdering his 2-year-old daughter after deputies responded to a call of a child not breathing, officials said.
On Thursday, February 20, 2020, at about 8:00 a.m., deputies responded to a medical aid call of a child not breathing in the 15000 block of Rancherias Road in Apple Valley.
Upon arrival, lifesaving measures were in progress and the child was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) for treatment.
According to a sheriff’s news release, “on Thursday afternoon, detectives from the Specialized Investigations Division were notified that the child was pronounced deceased. Additionally, detectives received information from LLUMC pediatricians that there was evidence of intentionally inflicted injury to the child.”
Detectives from the Homicide Detail and Crimes Against Children Division responded to conduct the investigation.
Detectives interviewed the victim’s family, including the father of the victim, Samuel Beckner. Following the interview, Beckner was arrested for murder, officials said.
He was booked at Central Detention Center for Murder and is being held without bail.
