VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): The city of Victorville has issued an alert notifying drivers of rain closures due to the rain storm. These closures will be from Wednesday, January 6, 2016 until further notice city officials said.
Detours will be posted in all the areas where streets are closed. The closed streets include Hughes Road between Avalon Road and Arrowhead Drive, Avalon Road between Molino Drive and Hughes Road and Pebble Beach drive at Arrowhead Drive going 200 feet east of Arrowhead Drive.
The city of Victorville is asking that all motorists obey all traffic devices and posted signs and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. Drivers must also exercise caution in these and other flooded areas.
The National Weather Service Weather Forecast Office warns drivers to “turn around don’t drown”. They said that six inches of moving water can make you fall and if flood waters rise around your vehicle, you should abandon your vehicle and move to higher ground. Six inches of water will reach the bottom of most passenger cars causing loss of control or stalling and a vehicle may float in just a foot of water.
