Adelanto woman arrested for vandalizing church using a lipstick

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 38-year-old Adelanto woman is facing felony charges after she allegedly used a lipstick to vandalize a church, officials said.

It happened on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at about 8:52 am, Deputy Montenegro with the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a vandalism report in the 18100 block of Greening Street in Adelanto.

According to a sheriff’s news release, when the pastor of the Desert Streams Baptist Church arrived in the morning, he found the words “Beware” and “Repent” written on the church doors in red lipstick.

“Deputy Montenegro checked the neighborhoods surrounding the church and found additional graffiti with the same words written on several walls,” stated the release.

The deputy identified the suspect as Katrina Stewart and located her still in possession of the lipstick used to affix the graffiti.

Katrina Stewart was arrested and booked for vandalism at a place of worship. She was booked at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.

On Monday, September 24, 2018, felony charges were filed by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
