Adelanto woman, 21, arrested for hurting a 5-month-old

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities arrested a 21-year-old Adelanto woman after hospital staff discovered numerous injuries on the 5-month-old baby, officials said.

The suspect, Chreoyn Davis, was arrested after an extensive investigation and collaboration from multiple agencies including the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, Victorville Sheriff’s Station and Forensic Pediatricians from Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Sheriff’s officials said the suspect initially took the victim to Victor Valley Global Medical Center for ‘difficulty breathing’ on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

According to a news release, it was during the medical examination that medical staff found numerous injuries to the baby boy. Due to the nature of his injuries, he was airlifted to LLUMC for further medical treatment.

“Forensic Pediatricians at LLUMC located other injuries on the victim and determined all the victim’s injuries were consistent with suspected child abuse,” stated the release.

The victim is currently hospitalized at LLUMC in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). 

Investigators said the victim resides in Adelanto with Chreoyn Davis but did not specify the relationship between the two.  

Following an extensive investigation and collaboration with the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station, Victorville Sheriff’s Station and Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC, Davis was arrested on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. She was booked at West Valley Detention Center for Willful Cruelty to a Child and bail was set for $100,000.
