Adelanto seeks to strengthen ties with South Korea

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — According to Adelanto Mayor Richard Kerr the City of Adelanto desires to have a mutually productive and positive relationship with the Nation of South Korea and in the process, support President Donald Trump’s desire to create industrial jobs.

Kerr cited that jobs and investments are coming to the City of Adelanto as evidenced by South Korean-American Aircore Cookware’s $45 million dollar investment creating 250 full-time jobs.

Mayor Richard Kerr recently led a city contingent to meet with Lee Key Cheol, the Consul General of the Nation of South Korea who through his efforts has demonstrated his country’s determination to work continually and cooperatively with the City of Adelanto to create development opportunities.

Kerr said after the visit that “the City of Adelanto and Nation of South Korea has and will continue to strengthen its partnership for the mutual benefit of both South Korea and the United States, and in the process set an example of diplomatic cooperation.”

One thing discussed was a creating a sister city relationship in South Korea such as Osan, Busan, Pohang.

“We are waiting to hear from Consul General on which might be the best fit,” said Kerr.
