Adelanto Residential Burglary Suspect At Large

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com):  Deputies from the Adelanto station responded on Friday evening to an alarm activation in the 14800 block of Providence Road in Adelanto. Dispatch spoke with the alarm company after the 7:54 p.m. alarm activation and they advised the alarm activated due to a broken window. When the deputy arrived, she found a broken window on the south side of the home.

She announced into the home, “Sheriff’s Department”. The suspect, a Hispanic man, that was around 5’10” tall and wearing a black hooded jacket and shorts entered the bedroom carrying an unknown black object. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials said that the suspect failed to comply with the commands of the deputy causing the deputy to shoot at the suspect. The suspect then fled the residence toward a home in the 10500 block of Arlington Street and jumped their back fence heading toward Victor Street.

Deputies from the Victor Valley Station, Victorville Station and a K-9 unit all searched for the suspect, who managed to elude capture.  The Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded to the scene to conduct an investigation as part of the protocol for officer-involved shootings. The suspect is not believed to have been struck by the gunfire.
