
ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 21-year-old man who put a PlayStation up for sale on the popular app Offerup was robbed and pepper-sprayed by the suspect during the transaction, officials said.
It happened at about 7:15 pm, on Saturday, September 8, 2018, when the victim agreed to meet the suspect identified as Angel Moreno, 21, of Lynwood in the area of Bartlett Avenue and Bellflower Street in Adelanto.
According to a sheriff’s news release, “the victim handed Moreno the PlayStation 4 prior to being paid the money. Moreno pepper sprayed the victim and then left with the gaming system.”
A witness saw what happened and followed the suspect to a mobile home park in the 11100 block of Bartlett Avenue in Adelanto.
“The witness made no attempt to contact Moreno, instead provided deputies with information to assist in apprehending him. Deputies searched the mobile home park and located Moreno hiding under the bed inside a mobile home belonging to one of his relatives,” stated the release.
Angel Moreno was arrested for robbery and assault with a caustic chemical and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
According to public arrest records, Moreno is currently being held in lieu of a $100,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on September 11, 2018.
