ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 42-year-old Adelanto man was arrested for allegedly raping a woman, authorities said.
On Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at approximately 8:00 am, deputies responded to a disturbance call at a residence in the 11500 block of Chaparral Avenue in Adelanto.
“When deputies went to the residence, the victim told them she had been raped,” sheriff’s officials said in a press release.
The victim told police she and the suspect, Rubin Desarden, had previously been in a relationship but were no longer together.
“She came to his residence to pick up her belongings but Desarden took her cell phone and refused to let her leave. The victim stated that Desarden then raped her,” officials said.
Desarden left the residence prior to deputies arrival but was later located in the area of Bellflower and Chamberlaine.
After an investigation, Desarden was arrested for rape and booked at the High Desert Detention Center.
According to public arrest records, Desarden was released from custody on July 20, 2017, and has no scheduled court appearance.
