
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Authorities arrested Jose Antonio Cornejo, 24, of Adelanto for the murder of Rodney Mosby.
Mosby, 30, of Apple Valley was gunned down outside the Wimbledon Apartments in the 16900 block of Jasmine Street in Victorville at about 1:38 pm, on Tuesday, August 8th.
After he was shot, Mosby ran across Jasmine Street and into a Bingo Hall located in a shopping center in the 12200 block of Hesperia Road.
Mosby was bleeding profusely as he collapsed near the front door of the location, witnesses said.
Medical personnel arrived on scene and Mosby was airlifted to a trauma center, but despite life-saving measures, Mosby was pronounced deceased at 4:21 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail was summoned and responded to assume the investigation.
Witnesses at the scene were able to provide deputies with suspect vehicle information. Approximately 10 minutes after the shooting the vehicle was spotted in the area of Nisqually and Delgado. A deputy conducted a felony traffic stop and Cornejo was detained, officials said.
Jose Cornejo was interviewed by Homicide detectives and subsequently arrested. He was transported and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Murder where he is being held without bail.
