ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Adelanto High School celebrated its 12th graduating class Wednesday night at Julian Weaver Stadium, honoring 503 graduates who set a new standard of excellence for the school.
The Class of 2026 helped mark a year of record achievement for the Saints, including the most college acceptances in school history, rising A-G completion rates and graduation rates that continue to lead the area.
The school also maintained the region’s highest CTE completion rate, with several graduates earning industry licenses and entering professional trade unions directly after high school. Others are enlisting in the United States Armed Forces.
Valedictorian Betsy Mejia, who earned a full ride to UC Berkeley, led the graduating class. Her sister, Abigail Mejia, was the Class of 2020 salutatorian and later graduated from Harvard.
Salutatorian Oscar Herrera is headed to UCLA, where he plans to study mathematics with the goal of becoming a teacher.
Another standout graduate, QuestBridge scholar Alana Chavez, earned a full ride to Pomona College, one of the Claremont Colleges.
“Graduates, remember you don’t need an invitation to lead,” Principal Ebony Purcell said in her speech. “Don’t wait for a seat at the table; you have everything you need to build your own, define your success, and live a life without limits. As you step into this fast changing world, what will determine your path are the choices you make and the risks you take. Take those risks thoughtfully, move with intention, and leave the world better than you found it.”
Congratulations to the Adelanto High School Class of 2026.
