82 cited during Traffic Enforcement Operation aimed at reducing accidents

VICTOR VALLEY, Calif. — On July 10, 2019, deputies from multiple stations in the High Desert, including Victorville Police Department, Apple Valley Police Department, Hesperia Police Department, and Adelanto Police Department, conducted a Traffic Enforcement Operation focused on reducing traffic collisions.

Deputies concentrated on several roadways in the cities of Victorville and Hesperia, identified as problem areas.

As a result, a total of 92 vehicle stops were conducted. Of the 92 stops, 82 citations were issued for vehicle code violations which included exceeding the speed limit, failing to stop at stop signs, distracted driving, and unsafe driving practices.

Seven of those vehicles were towed for expired vehicle registration or due to the driver being unlicensed or driving with a suspended license.

Similar operations will be conducted throughout the High Desert over the next few months. Our local law enforcement and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as a whole, urge drivers to follow the laws of the road to keep themselves and others safe.
